Constance C. "Connie" (Wood) Anderson

Constance "Connie" C. (Wood) Anderson, 89, of Sanford, MI, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Meridian Acres Assisted Living Home.  The daughter of the late Henry E. Wood and Winnifred E. (Andrews) Wood, she was born in Danville, Ill, June 30, 1934.  After completing her degrees in English and Physical Education and leading the University's synchronized swim team to an NCAA championship at Bowling Green State University in 1956, she married her childhood sweetheart, Henry "Hank" B. Anderson on June 2, 1956 in Gary, IN.  She later completed her Masters degree in English and went on to teach at various primary schools.  Her hobbies included reading, puzzles, and crafts.

Surviving are her children, Cathy (Dan) Allen, Susan Shyshka, and grandchildren Scott Sansone, Emily Shyshka, and Hannah McBride.  Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Hank, and son, Scott Anderson.

Per her wishes, cremation will take place and her ashes will be interred with her husbands in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.  Personal messages of condolence may be offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com.
