Connie Louise Sleeper, 67, of Midland, died peacefully with her family by her side Thursday August 11, 2016 after a brave one-year battle with colon and lung cancer. She was born May 23, 1949 in Midland, daughter of Lucille E. (Beamish) and the late Eithel (Teet) Ross. Connie attended Midland schools and on May 27, 1967 in Midland she married Walter Sleeper who passed away May 6, 2009, together they raised a son, Wally G. Sleeper. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Connie was always willing to lend a helping hand to her family and her friends, who will greatly miss her. She enjoyed country music, loved to dance, playing bingo and trips to the casino. Connie also enjoyed spending her winters in Zephyrhills, Florida with her loving companion, Leonard Nicolai, who gave her the greatest 6 years of her life.
She is survived by her mother, Lucille; son, Wally and granddaughter, Ashleigh Sleeper; sisters, Carol Price and Gloria Brethour (Miles Foune); brothers, Lyle Ross (Cheryl Trudell) and Mike (Peggy Sue) Ross; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Adcock and Patricia Pitt; her fiancé, Leonard Nicolai, and many nephews and nieces. Besides her father and husband, Connie was preceded in death by a nephew, Ross Wayne Brethour, brothers-in-law; Ross M. Brethour and Leslie E. Price.
Funeral services for Connie will conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 16, 2016 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Youmans officiating. Per Connie's wishes she will be buried next to her husband Wally at the Lee Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the families wishes.
