Clare L. Pomranky, age 88 of Midland, passed away Monday evening December 23, 2019 at Cascades Assisted Living. The son of the late August and Edna (Emery) Pomranky was born in Midland on November 26, 1931. Clare served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the Midland County Road Commission, retiring in 1989 after 34 years of service. Clare enjoyed watching birds, cutting wood, hunting and fishing. On April 28, 1951 in Midland, Clare married the former Bernice I. Wint and after 53 years of marriage she died on May 28, 2004.
Surviving is his son, Danny Pomranky and companion, Penny Rouse; daughter, Debra Kennedy and companion, Richard Reid; grandchildren, Matthew (Heidi) Kennedy, Nicholas (Ashley) Kennedy, Leah (Adam) Bogacki, Dana (Joe) Pavlet; great grandchildren, Sean & Ryan Kennedy, Danika & Addison Pavlet, Gerard Bogacki; brothers, Earnest (Lauara) Pomranky, Eugene (Julie) Pomranky; sister in laws Ann Pomranky and Alice Pomranky; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Clare was preceded in death by brothers, Walter, John, Phillip, Elliott, David Pomranky; sisters, Leona Dopp and Eleanor Hollingshead.
Funeral and committal services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday December 27, 2019 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor David Auckerman officiating with Military Funeral Honors being provided by the United States Army and the Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 till 4 and 6 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given in Clare's name to Mt. Haley Church of God and MidMichigan Home Health Care (Hospice).
