On November 8, 2023, Cheri Barrera greeted her son Christopher and her grandson Isaaic in Heaven where they will run and breathe freely, full of life together.
Cheri Lynn (Snyder) Barrera was born in Midland, Michigan on September 25, 1960, to Jerry (Diane) Snyder and Betty (Dan) Cole. She was endlessly proud of her little brothers Jerry (Stephanie) and Jeff (Joann), whom she loved fiercely, and survive her.
Additionally, left to celebrate her life are: her husband of 24 years, Rich Barrera, daughters Nicole (Nate) Tolfree, and Mackenzie Freeze (Brody Clarke), son, Ian Foster (Ashley Gebert), grandsons Tristen (Kylee) Harvey, Benjamin Stebleton, Gaven Tolfree, granddaughters Karliegh and Ava Raelynn Tolfree, along with special friends June "Ma", Julie, Pam, and Erica, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Cheri would insist her pride for her grand-dogs was mentioned. She was devoted to every single one, no matter how much slobber came along with them.
Cheri attended Breckenridge schools and joked about being a "Breckenridge chicken farmer". Her fondness for country life never ended. Her happiest moments were spent at farmers markets, roadside stands, and raiding squash blossoms from gardens so she could cook, can, and bake for everyone she loved. It was one of the many ways Cheri constantly made others feel special.
Cheri's work ethic was unmatched, as was her rebellious spirit. Cheri gained so many great friends through her time working at the Midland Mall, Stratford Village Nursing Home, and Lil Chef Restaurant. She embodied independence, and made sure to instill the value of hard work in her children.
There will be a Graveside Service Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11 am at Midland Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Dan Youmans from Lighthouse Body of Christ will be officiating.
