Charles E. Wonsitler

Charles E. Wonsitler, age 90 of Midland died Monday January 13, 2014 at the MidMichigan Medical Center.
The son of the late Elias and Anna (Cupp) Wonsitler was born on April 5, 1923 in Cygnet, Ohio. On November 5, 1949 he married the former Emma Dice in Richmond, Indiana. Charles served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 honorably serving in Europe and Asia. He worked for the Dow Chemical Co. as a Trade Supervisor, retiring in 1978. Charles loved spending time with the family and helping out where ever possible for anyone in need. He always had a kind smile, sharp wit and loved to play practical jokes. He was a gentle and understanding husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Emma "Tootie" Wonsitler; daughters Diane Howson, Darlene Shepard, Sandie Burritt; sister, Donna VanSteinburg; and special family member Faith Woodbury. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Dale Hauri; daughter Shirlee (Getgood) LaFlure; brother Glenn Wonsitler; and sister Norma Wansitler.

Funeral service for Mr. Wonsitler will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday January 17, 2014 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Hodgeson, Pastor of Mapleton United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from noon until time of service. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Mapleton U.M.C.
