Charles W. Westergard, Jr.

Charles W. Westergard, Jr. age 73 of Midland and Florida, died on Monday December 17, 2012 at University of Florida, in Gainesville. The son of the late Charles and Helen (Welchert) Westergard, Sr. was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 20, 1939. Charles served in the United States Air Force. He had been employed with Michigan Bell until his retirement in 1987 after 27 years of service. Charles was a very active member of Sunshine Christen Fellowship in Florida where he served as an Elder, the Knights of Columbus, was an officer in the Pioneer Club and a member of the Moose. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and watching sports on TV.

Surviving are his wife Linda of whom he married in 1981; children, Robbin (Bonnie) Westergard of Midland, Rhonda (John) Martinski of Auburn, Ryan (Amy) Westergard of Midland, Tom (Jackie) Garlow of Florida, Todd (Teri) Garlow of Midland; 23 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Jan Rugenstein of Auburn, Beverly Bathurst of California. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by son, Randy.

A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 4, 2013 at Dale United Methodist Church in Beaverton. Memorials may be offered to the church or the family.
