Charles N. "Charlie" Dean, age 63 of Midland died Friday October 28, 2011. The son of the late Noble and Rita (Voss) Dean was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 25, 1948. Charlie graduated from Erie Mason High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1973 during the Vietnam War. Charlie was employed with Merillat Industries as a maintenance worker until retiring in 2009. He was a lover of nature and spent quiet time watching the birds, rabbits, squirrels and deer in the back yard. Charlie was a freelance photographer and loved taking photos. He and his wife did woodworking and attended several bazaars together. Charlie liked to fish, read, trips to the Upper Peninsula and visiting lighthouses but being with his grandson is what he loved most of all.
Charlie is survived by his wife the former Patricia Garno Gray whom he married on December 2, 1988 in Midland and together they resided in Hudson, Michigan until moving back to Midland in 2010; daughters, Daria M. Kunish of Saginaw, Megan L. Gray of Midland; son, Steven R. Gray of Sanford; grandson, Ethan J. Gray; sister, Catherine Allion of Morenci, mother in law, Helen Garno of Midland and four nieces.
Per the wishes of Charlie cremation has taken places and there will be no other services. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Personal messages of condolences maybe offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com
