Charles L. Breedlove, age 79 of Midland, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. The son of the late Charles D. and Rosella (Potter) Breedlove was born in Mt. Pleasant on October 1, 1939 and graduated from Merrill High School Class of 1959. Charles proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed with Dow Corning as a Journeyman Tradesman retiring on May 31, 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he was very involved many ministries including the Roofing Ministry and Call to the Creek. Charles was also involved with Emmaus Community, Vita de Cristo, Dow Corning Retirees, and Midland Horse Shoe Club. He was an avid Nascar, Michigan Football and Detroit Tigers Fan and also enjoyed his 1957 Chevy.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years the former Jill A. Smith, of whom he married on August 4, 1967 in Bridgeport; Daughters, Lauri (Darin) Potter, Carrie (Jay) Lewis; grandchildren, Zachary Charles Potter, Courtney Potter and, Michael Destrampe, Eric (Claire) Lewis, Tara Lewis; sister, Nancy Dunn and Allen Schultz; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil C. Breedlove; brother in law, Leroy Dunn.
A celebration of Charles life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Ed Doerner officiating. Family will receive guests at the Church for an informal visitation on Monday evening from 5 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
