Celia M. Heydens, age 94 of Bay City, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at New Hope Bay Assisted Living. The daughter of the late Nels and Wilmont (O'Blenes) Alexanderson was born in Norway, Michigan on July 11, 1927 where she was raised and educated. On June 6, 1947 in Norway, Celia married Rev. William Heydens and after 72 years of marriage he passed away on January 7, 2020. Celia was a loving wife, mother and a full-time ministers wife assisting and supporting her husband at churches in Baldwin, MI., Carter Road Baptist Church of Bay County, Woodruff Baptist Church in Fondulue, WI., returning back to Carter Road Baptist Church in 1989.



Surviving are her sons, William F. (Tammy) Heydens, Nels F. (Dawn M.) Heydens, and Nathan M. (Dawn E.) Heydens; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Elmer Alexanderson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Celia was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Heydens; daughter, Darlene Worst; granddaughter, Nichole Heydens; brother, Eldon Alexanderson; and sister, Mildred Osterberg.



Funeral and committal services for Mrs. Heydens will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday March 4, 2022 at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd, Midland with Rev. Stan Dulaney officiating. Interment will be in Norway Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Good News Baptist Church Mission Fund 6830 Eastern Ave. SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49508. The family wishes to thank the staff at New Hope Bay for the wonderful care given to Celia over the last 2 years.
