Carrol "Pete" Lloyd Clerc

Carrol L. "Pete" Clerc, age 82 of Midland died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Kindy Adult Foster Care Home.

The son of the late Henry and Lillie (Sterup) Clerc was born August 25, 1927 in Gresham, Nebraska and as a youth moved to Midland where he was raised and educated.
Pete served with the U.S. Navy from 1945 through 1956. On May 26, 1952 he married the former Reathel Mason.
Pete worked as a pipefitter/welder for the Dow Corning Corporation, retiring in 1988 after 34 years of service.
He enjoyed carpentry and built many homes. He was an avid pool player at the Midland Community Center and enjoyed the 4 Seasons Health Club.

Pete is survived by his wife, Reathel; son, Jodi (Peggy) Clerc of Breckenridge; daughters, Gayle (Don) Schaffer of St. Joseph, Missouri, Renee (John) Farrand of Saginaw; -10- grandchildren and -6- great grandchildren; special companion, Connie Trudell; brother, Marvin "Short" Clerc of Elkhart, Indiana; sisters, Lois Leach of Midland and Joyce McLaughlin of Midland.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Arnold, and Eugene; and sisters, Bernice Korbelik, Mabel Zwick, Maxine Berryhill and Marjorie Cassiday.

A Memorial service for Mr. Clerc will be held at 11:00 am Friday from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Wright of Our Savior Lutheran Church officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Midland Area Veterans and the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Guard.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the service.
Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland or MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice).
