Carol J. Nash

January 10, 1951 — February 3, 2016

Carol J. Nash, age 65 of Midland, died Wednesday February 3, 2016; going to her eternal home to be with her Lord Jesus following her lengthy battle with cancer and renal failure. She was a loving mom, a great nurse, and a strong servant and believer in Christianity; always putting others first, before herself. The daughter of Clare and June (Schoenhals) Tosch was born in Jackson, Michigan January 10, 1951 and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1969. Carol attended Central Michigan University and graduated from Delta School of Nursing with her RN. She worked in various hospitals in this area. Carol married Norman E. Nash in 1972 and later married Mike Rethman and he predeceased her in 2001. Carol was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Midland, active in the Matthew Circle, the Chancel Choir, and volunteered at the Seasons Center.

Carol is survived by her sons Matthew A. Nash of Detroit, Stephen (Kelley) Nash of Traverse City; grandchildren Eli and Xander Nash and Katerina DeLorean; parents Clare M. and June K. Tosch of Midland; brother, James (Karen) Tosch of Freeland; and sister Karen (Ralph) Herzberg of Saginaw.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. J. D. Landis officiating. Inurnment will be in the Shrader Memorial Gardens at the church. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Donations in Carol's memory may be offered to First United Methodist Church.
