Carl H. Torres

Carl H. Torres, age 94 of Midland, died Sunday evening February 7, 2010 at his residence. The son of the late Raul and Mary (Chambers) Torres was born in Hope, Michigan on September 20, 1915 where he was raised and educated. He was employed with The Dow Chemical Co. for many years. Carl was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things, hunting and fishing in his early years, was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and sailing. Carl was always willing to help others. On November 15, 1938 in Jackson, Michigan Carl married the former June W. Fredrickson. She died in February 20, 2007.

Surviving are his sons, C. Edward (Lloya) Torres of Midland, William J. (Riva) Torres of Albright Shores; grandchildren, Steve Torres, Heidi Sherwood, Chris Torres and families, Tonya Devericks, Karla Kennedy; 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 11, 2010 at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Jeremy Africa of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
