Bradley V. Winchell

Loving husband and father, Bradley V. Winchell, age 52 of Midland died while doing what he loved to do, flying his plane; nicknamed his girlfriend "Mustang Sally". The son of James and Barbara (Stokes) Winchell was born on February 3, 1957 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He served in the Army National Guard for many years. Brad was currently employed with The Dow Chemical Company as an operator. Prior to Dow he had worked at Kal Plastic in Beaverton for 10 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing, play racket ball, down hill and water skiing. Brad also enjoyed sky diving for over 19 years and was an instructor. He was an instrumental and commercial rated pilot. Brad was a member of EAA, AOPA, USPA, POPS, Wings of Mercy, NRA, Midland Sportsmen's Club and was a blood donor at Dow. On August 26, 1979 Brad married the former Mary Ann Foster.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Mary Ann; daughter, Jennifer (Shane) Talbot of Midland; son, David Winchell and fiancé, Leah Welch of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Caitlin Johnson, Shane Thomas and Jonathan; parents, James and Barbara Winchell of Midland; brother, Pete (Beth) Winchell of North Carolina; sister, Stephanie (Ricky) Alvarez of Georgia; grandmother, Florence Hohman of Midland; aunt, Margaret Besey of Frankenmuth; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are his mother in law, Doris Jueckstock of Clare; 2 step brothers; 2 step sisters all of Lake City; 4 sisters in law; best friend, Bruno and many other friends.

Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 13, 2009 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Officiating will be members from Cedar Rapid Chapel Church. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
