Blanche Opal Miller

Blanche Opal Miller passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 97. Known fondly as “Red”, Blanche was born in Beaverton on October 28, 1928, to the late Arthur and Mina (Hooper) Metcalf.

On February 6, 1945, Blanche married Robert Miller and they shared 63 years together before his death in 2008. When not working as an Avon Rep, she enjoyed listening to country music, dancing, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (William) Thurmond, Richard (Judy) Miller, Robert (Jill Fisher) Jr.; grandsons, Keith (Robin) Naugle, Mark Naugle, Scott Miller, and her twin granddaughters, Jennifer Miller and Jaime (John) Miller-Adams; 13 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Blanche was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Hund.

A service to honor Blanche’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Wilson Miller Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Private interment will be in the Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Blanche’s name may be offered to the Alzheimer’s Association.
