Betty I. Purcell

Betty I. (Noyes) Purcell, age 86 of Midland died Friday, October 29, 2010. The daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Gates) Noyes was born on July 22, 1924 in Greendale Twp. She was raised and educated in Alberta, Canada, returning to Midland in her early 20's where she married William R. Purcell in Angola, IN. He predeceased her on January 6, 1996. Betty was a homemaker, enjoyed dancing and had just attended a Seniors Jamboree in Albright Shores on Friday evening.

Betty is survived by her son, Gary (Debbie) Purcell of Midland; daughters, Susan (Steve) Beebe of Sanford, Eleanor Witkop of Omer, MI; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and special friend, John Clark. She was predeceased by her son in law, Norman Witkop; brothers, George, James, Alfred, Joseph and sisters, Hazel Huggard, Agnes Talbot, Sarah Little and Adeline Brabaw.

Funeral service for Betty will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 2, 2010, from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend James Shanks officiating. Interment will be in Homer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service.
