Betty J. Hubbard

March 18, 1923 — November 11, 2016


Betty Jane (O' Dell) Hubbard of Frankenmuth, formerly Sanford MI, passed away peacefully on 11-11-16 at the age of 93 with her loving children and grandchildren by her side after a brief illness.


Betty was the daughter of Claude and Geraldine (Crawford) O'Dell of North Bradley and was born in a log cabin on the family farm. She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy (Duff) Hubbard in 2005. She is survived by her brother Hugh (Glenna) O' Dell of Coleman and sister-in-law, Francis (Dick) O'Dell of Coleman and her children, Linda Bush Conn (John) of Traverse City, MI, Rodney Hubbard (Mary) of Melbourne Beach, FL and Jeffrey Hubbard (Sonja) of Daytona Beach Shores, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren who were so dear to her; Jim & Loris Bush, Anne Bauer, Chris and Wendy Bush, Amanda and Matthew Therolf, Rodney Hubbard, Caitlin Hubbard, Deita Kayser, Mindy and Brian Worsley, Kelli and Jeremy Paisley, and Ryan and Lori Hubbard, along with 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, two special cousins, Darlene Wilson and Connie O'Dell-Scott and a very special friend Norma Jean Brownlee.


Betty was an active member of the Sanford United Methodist Church for many years and the Central Michigan Old Car Club where she and her husband were the Grand Marshalls of the Sanford Founder's Day parade in 2000. She retired from the Midland County Treasurer's office in 1988.


Betty loved to sew, knit and crochet, donating many items to area hospitals for premature babies. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always there for her family.


Per her request, there will not be a funeral. Her life will be celebrated by family and friends in the summer of 2017 at Emerson Park in Midland. Memorials may be made in her name to Sanford United Methodist Church in Sanford, MI or a charity of your choice.
