Bertha Mae Filcek

Bertha M. (Young) Filcek, age 78 of Beaverton, passed away Tuesday evening February 27, 2018 at her residence. The daughter of the late John R. Sr. and Helen (Tarr) Young was born in Saginaw on February 23, 1940. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing bingo, listening to polka music, but most of all Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughters, Vonda Presley of Beaverton, Brenda (Lee) Rister of New Boston, Michigan; grandchildren, Jeremy & Christopher McCray, Jennifer Mayberry, Leatha Derikart, Billy Schwerin, Jr., Terrianne Johnston; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister, Elizabeth Ellis; brother, Roy (June) Young; sister in law, Roslin Young; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by sister, Helen Hall; brother, John Young, Jr. Joseph Young, Sr., Ralph Young; granddaughter, Jaclyn (Maryberry) Shangle; grandson, Bradley E. Schwerin; nephew, William Booth.

Funeral services for Bertha will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 3, 2018 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
