Beatrice M. Ropp

Beatrice M. Ropp, age 97 of Midland, passed away Thursday morning December 7, 2017 at Stratford Pines, Midland. The daughter of the late William and Flora (Welch) Krause was born in Bay City on December 9, 1919 where she was raised and educated. Beatrice attended Homer United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards, especially pinochle and canasta. She was a member of TOPS Club, Inc. and later moved to level of KOPS. On February 22, 1941 in Midland, Beatrice married Harvey C. Ropp and after 72 years of marriage he died on November 17, 2013.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol (Glenn) Gillespie, Sharon Ortiz, Wendy (Rob) Donovan all of Midland; grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Ortiz, Shelly (John Seitz) Ortiz, Colleen (Jerry) Weinert, Brendon & Sean Donovan; great grandchildren, Jade, Audrey, Hailee, Sophia, Eric, Dylan & Tonya; great great grandchildren, Keegan & Julia. In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by grandson, Steven Gillespie; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and son in law, Al Ortiz.
