Barry Kendall Stark

Barry Kendall Stark, age 34 of Midland, died at his home on Saturday December 1 2012. The son of the late Forrest Otto and Gloria May (Ludy) Stark was born in Midland on January 3, 1978. Barry graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Computer Science. He was an avid Karate Student and he worked at the school for the Studebaker Family who were his close friends and teachers. Barry had also volunteered at the Midland County Humane Society and his two rescue dogs Snoopy and Stacey were so dear to his heart. While Barry held various jobs in Midland and Mt. Pleasant, in recent years he devoted much of his life to helping his stepmother care for his aging father. Barry's siblings and extended family hold Barry's selfless act of love in high regard, and will remember him fondly for the love he offered our father.

Surviving is his Stepmother, Nancy Stark of Midland; siblings, Douglas Stark of Arlington, Virginia; Kimberley Merritt of Independence, Missouri; Corey (Marji) Stark of Lees Summit, Missouri; Dr. Craig (Judith) Stark of Clive, Iowa; Leslie (Ron) Fontaine of Blue Springs, Missouri; stepsister, Lisa (Dennis) Fales of Midland; many nieces and nephews and the Studebaker family who he referred to as his Karate Family. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by nephew, Kevin Stark.

A celebration prayer service of Barry's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 from Wilson Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Phil Rice will officiate. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of service.

Because of Barry's devotion to his beloved dogs who were his little family, memorials may be offered to the Midland County Humane Society.
