Barbara Lee Haley, age 71 of Bay City died Friday March 11, 2016 at the McLaren Bay Special Care Facility. She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Russell and Mary McLean, her husband, William Haley, two brothers and many other loved ones.
Barb lived in Midland most of her life and was well loved by many in the community. She graduated from Midland High School in 1961. Her parents instilled in her the value of family. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, volunteering, was a caretaker for many, and was an avid Tigers fan. She aided many children, including her own grandchildren, in a local 4-H club and assisted with local food pantry distributions. She cared for elderly in the community for many years as a CNA. She had a special love for pets and children.
Barb is survived by her sons Mark Haley Sr. of Alma, Matthew (Jen) Haley of Midland and daughter Melynda (Mike) LaLande of Mt Pleasant. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mark Jr., Jeremy (Angie), Michael, Zachary, Melissa, Jonathon, Jessica, Matthew Jr., Brandon (Nikki), William, Lucas, Karrigen, Blayze and many great grandchildren; her brothers Russell (Carol) McLean, Richard McLean and her sisters Linda Alexander and Gaila (Ken) Bennett. She will be deeply missed by her loving granddaughter and caregiver, Alexandria (Seth) Kowalczyk.
Funeral service for Barbara will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from the Midland Missionary Church with Pastor Jim Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Greendale Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m until the time of service. Memorials in Barbara's memory may be given to the wishes of the family.
