Arlene M. Wood

Arlene M. (George) Wood, age 75 of Sanford died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Sunday, May 24, 2009. The daughter of the late William and Olive (Wyant) George was born in Winn, Mi on March 12, 1934. Arlene graduated from Blanchard High School in 1951. On November 27, 1953 she married Frank Wood in Saginaw where they resided until moving to Sanford in 1972. While in Saginaw, Arlene worked for Dr. Ed Rodda as a Medical Assistant and later for Dr. Roy Colby. Sanford was her home since 1972 where her hobbies included her family and making people laugh and feel welcome in her home, her motto could very well be: You can always tell what a person is made of by the way they treat those who can do nothing for them.Arlene is survived by her husband Frank Wood. She is also survived by her children: Rodney J. (Bernadette) Wood of Sanford, Tonnie Sue Wood of Sanford and grandchildren William Wood, Tate Jenkins and Jacob Wood. Arlene is also survived by her Brother Robert "Jeff" George and sister Evelyn (Malcolm) Taylor and was pre deceased by brother Oliver George and sisters-in-law Susie George and Terry George.In accordance with Arlene's wishes there will be no services or visitation at the Wilson MILLER FUNERAL HOME at this time. A Memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may offered to the American Lung Association or to the Midland Salivation Army.
