Arlene M. (Parker) Hammond

Arlene M. Hammond, age 87 of Midland, passed away Wednesday evening October 20, 2021 at Regency at Chene Nursing Home in Detroit. The daughter of the late Cecil and Bertha (Chubb) Parker was born in Gratiot County on April 1, 1934. Arlene had been employed with Brittany Manor as a Nurses Aid for many years. A job she really enjoyed doing. She enjoyed going hunting and fishing in her earlier years, crocheting, and raising her children. On April 15, 1950, Arlene married Harold Hammond and after 67 years of marriage he died on December 7, 2017.

Surviving are her sons, Roy (Sherry) Hammond, Steven (Kimberly) Hammond, Andrew (Joanna) Hammond; daughters, Phyllis Maltby, Doris Hammond, Carol (Dale) Wetherell; Dawn (Mike) Beardslee; 22 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Carl Parker; sisters, Pearline (Ron) Massey, Joyce Parker; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by brother, Dewayne Parker; sisters, Irma Bearden, Norma Ferguson, Violette Wallace; sons in law, Kenneth Maltby, Don Hammond.

Funeral services for Arlene will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday October 25, 2021 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lee Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
