Arlene C. Mashue

Arlene C. Mashue 73 of Midland and Ann Arbor died Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, one day short of her 74th birthday at Medilodge of Clare. The only child of John Mashue and Bernice (Davis) Mashue was born in Midland, January 12, 1944. She was raised west of Midland on Chippewa River Road and attended St Elmo Elementary School. Arlene graduated from Midland Senior High School in 1962 and received a business degree from Michigan State University. She worked as a retail fashion buyer early in her career and then sold phone directory advertising later in her career. Arlene enjoyed traveling throughout the US and many parts of the world. Photography was her favorite hobby and took many pictures of her travels. Southwestern US was a favorite destination. She wished to live in Arizona but became a victim of Alzheimer's disease. Arlene lived in assisted living and a nursing home until her death. She remained single throughout her life and had no children.

Arlene is survived by many cousins but was especially close to her cousins, Shirley (Davis) Abbott and Ed Witkoske who were her primary caregivers the last few years.

Funeral services for Arlene will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 15, 2018 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Cook of Sanford United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive guest at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
