Ardath D. Chubb

Ardath D. Chubb, age 93 of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Candlestone Assisted Living. The daughter of the late William and Hazel (Bright) Freeman was born March 25, 1926 and graduated from Midland High School in 1944. On May 18, 1953 she married the love of her life, Robert Chubb. She was lovingly referred to as his little flower. Ardath worked as a secretary at the Dow Chemical Company until her retirement in 1980, after her retirement, her and Robert moved to Frederick, MI until their return to Sanford 18 years ago. During retirement they spent their winters in Rockport, TX. Ardath enjoyed spending time with friends and family, shopping and happy hours on her porch with her friends at Old Oak Estates.

Ardath is survived by her children, Sandy (Ron) Howden of Kalamazoo, William (Beth) Maybee of Midland, Debbie Schweigert of Midland and Nancy (Tim) Walsh of Cypress, TX; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and sister, Rita Freeman of Merril, MI.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ardath was preceded in death by her son in-law Dave Schweigert; brother, Dale Freeman; and sister Billie Briggin.

Funeral services for Ardath will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Cook of Sanford United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 - 8 pm and again on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service.
