Anthony W. Banules, age 63 of Sanford, died Monday, August 17, 2015 at his home. Tony was born February 10, 1952 to Anthony C. and Irene (Fish) Banules in Detroit. He was in the first graduating class of Bishop Foley High School, Madison Heights in 1969 where he proudly wore #53 on the football and basketball teams. He attended General Motors Institute then served with the U.S. Air Force. Tony attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn before moving to the Midland area. On July 9, 1977 he married Nancy Horning and after 37 years of marriage she predeceased him February 27, 2015. Tony was one of the founders of Valley Electric, selling and retiring to pursue his love of fishing. He travelled the Professional Walleye circuit for many years and was featured on Cabella's catalogue front cover in 1996. Tony had been a very active member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1610 where he had served as Exalted Ruler and was instrumental in many Halloween parties and will always be remembered for donning a yellow polka dot bikini for a 50's party. He was instrumental in establishing the Knights of Columbus #8043 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sanford.

Tony is survived by his children, Patrick (Debbi) Sandow of Midland, Jason Sandow of Fenton, Joellen McMullen of Midland and Rebecca Shauger of Nashville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, one great grandson. He is also survived by his parents, AC and Irene Banules of Hope; sisters Linda Mousseau of Yorba Linda, California and Kathy (Mike) Ordiway of Midland; sisters in law Kelly Banules of Redford, Coralie Ceislinski of Montgomery, Tx and Carrie Horning; brother in law Al Horning of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brother Charles Banules, sisters in law Pam Degeer and Patricia Cooper; brothers in law Jerry Ceislinski and Leon Degeer.

A celebration of Tony's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2015 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Father Dan Fox, OFM-Cap of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory may be offered to the VA Medical Center Saginaw or the MidMichigan Autism Association.
