Alpha I. Livingston, age 97 of Midland, passed away Wednesday evening January 11, 2017 at Bickford Assisted Living in Midland. The daughter of the late Zerah A. and Daisy J. (Childs) Blodgett was born in Gladwin on March 12, 1919 where she was raised and educated. Alpha was a school teacher for many years prior to raising her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Women Circle. Alpha enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening and reading. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. On November 22, 1945, Alpha married Donald V. Livingston and after 70 years of marriage he died on July 24, 2014.
Surviving is her children, Phillip Livingston of Interlochen, Lee (Betty) Livingston of Bellaire, Marilyn (John) Lefler of Midland, Maxine (Jerry) Myers of Hemlock, Clifford Livingston of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Nick, Erik and Vince; great grandchildren, Natalie & Olivia McQueen, Aubrey Myers, Aki & Mia Livingston. In addition to her parents and husband, Alpha was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Alex Blodgett.
