Alexandra Vesterfelt

Alexandra Vesterfelt, 92 of Sanford, passed away at Woodland Hospice of Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. The daughter of the late Casimer and Stella (Zienta) Wesolowski was born October 4, 1925 in Flushing, MI. Alexandra married Bruce R. Vesterfelt on July 27, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio and after 52 years of marriage, he passed away January 11, 1999. She had been employed at the Midland Hospital and also Midland Circle Bowling Alley. Alexandra enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards and games and loved church. She was a member of the Sanford American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Vesterfelt is survived by her daughters, Barbara Austin, Betty (Robert) Gilman, Tarrie Jackson; son, Robert (Kathy) Vesterfelt; daughter in law, Elvira Vesterfelt; sister, Nina Pudvay; eighteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Allen Vesterfelt; granddaughters, Sheilla Stiles, Tami Austin; son in law, Frederick Austin; and many sisters and brothers.

Alexandra's family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Woodland Hospice staff and Dr. Dannawala for the care of our mother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Atchinson officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
