Alayne M. Berg

Alayne M. (Woods) Berg, age 66 of Midland passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Brittany Manor after suffering complications from a stroke.

The daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Neinas) Woods was born December 22, 1943 in Midland, graduated from Midland High School and had attended Delta College.

Alayne had been in banking for over 20 years and was the assistant branch manager for the mortgage department of Bank One before retiring in 2002. She was a past president and member of the ABWA. She enjoyed knitting and ceramics but her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Alayne is survived by her son, Matthew (Stacey) Berg of Midland; daughter, Sheila (Chuck) Cody of Midland; grandchildren, Jacob Berg, Marrigan Cody; brothers, Randall (Eva) Woods of Texas, Barry (Leah) Woods of Traverse City; sister, Denise (Robert) Lundy of Midland; the father of her children, Harold Berg of Midland; sisters in law, Ruth (Don) Woodward, Linda Bergman; brother in law, Lyman (Ceanne) Bergman; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 8, 2010 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Pastor Kurt Weber of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association.
